Tottenham have announced Romania defender Vlad Chiriches is to join Serie A club Napoli for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old moved to north London from Steaua Bucharest for a reported fee of 9.5million euros in August 2013 but struggled to cement a regular first-team spot at White Hart Lane and will now be moved on.
Tottenham said on their official website: "We have reached agreement with Napoli for the transfer of Vlad Chiriches. We wish Vlad every success for the future."
Chiriches made just 43 appearances across his two seasons, 27 of which came in the Premier League.
He signed off in ignominious fashion in his final match with the club after being red-carded in the 3-0 defeat at Stoke on May 9.
With Spurs signing Toby Alderweireld from Atletico Madrid, Chiriches, who has 32 caps for Romania, was likely to fall further down the pecking order at Spurs.
Chiriches is the second defender to leave the club this summer after Younes Kaboul signed for Premier League rivals Sunderland earlier this month.
Newcastle have announced the signing of Chancel Mbemba and hope he will be granted a work permit in time to start the Premier League season at the club.
The 20-year-old DR Congo defender was granted governing body endorsement (GBE) at a Football Association panel hearing on Thursday, and now needs just visa clearance to launch his Newcastle career.
Mbemba has become Newcastle's third signing of the summer after making the switch from Anderlecht, with head coach Steve McClaren keen to tie up the remaining paperwork quickly.
McClaren said: "We are delighted that Chancel is now a Newcastle United player after it took a little longer than we had hoped.
"He is a proven performer at the highest level, he's powerful, combative and will add quality to our defence. He also has an eye for goal which is an extra asset for us.
"We will get him integrated into the squad quickly once he is with us. Unfortunately, due to the time it takes to process the visa application that won't be in time for our final friendly on Saturday, but our focus will be to make sure he will be ready and available as soon as possible.
"I'm sure our supporters will take to him very quickly. He's the sort of player fans will enjoy watching."
Aston Villla are in talks with Blackburn over the sale of striker Rudy Gestede.
The forward has been linked with a move to Villa Park and negotiations are on-going between the clubs.
The 26-year-old scored 22 goals for Rovers last season as they finished ninth in the Sky Bet Championship and has netted 34 times in 65 games for the club.
Crystal Palace were interested in the Gestede in January and he has been continuously linked with a move away from Ewood Park this summer.
Watford, Norwich and West Brom have been linked to the Benin international, who has been at Blackburn since signing permanently from Cardiff, after a loan spell, in 2014.
Villa boss Tim Sherwood is searching for more firepower after the £32.5million sale of Christian Benteke to Liverpool.
He is closing in on a loan deal for Emmanuel Adebayor, who he managed at Tottenham, with the deal expected to be completed soon.
Adebayor was given a guided tour of Villa's Bodymoor Heath training ground on Tuesday while talks continued on Wednesday.
Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout could also be a Villa player by the end of the week with the club holding talks with the 22-year-old.
Stoke defender Andy Wilkinson has signed a short-term deal with the club to enable him to recover from a serious head injury.
Wilkinson has not featured for the Potters since sustaining a bang on the head in the FA Cup defeat at Blackburn in February.
A brief club statement read: "Stoke City can confirm that Andy Wilkinson has been given a contract until December 31, 2015 to enable him to regain full fitness with the support of the club's medical staff after sustaining an injury last season."
