Limerick have signed former Queens Park Rangers, Swindon and Tamworth central defender Patrick Kanyuka.
The 28-year-old arrived on Shannonside during the past month and played in the friendly match against MK Dons, earning himself a contract until the end of this season.
Manager Martin Russell hopes that the Kinshasa-born player will add steel to Limerick’s defence and he has been cleared for selection for Saturday’s crucial Premier Division clash with Sligo Rovers at the Markets Field (6.30pm), where the Blues aim to close the gap at the foot of the table to seven points.
Limerick have also welcomed back Shaun Kelly to the club.
Dundalk have added another striker to their ranks with the return of former Sligo Rovers striker Sean Maguire to the League of Ireland.
The former West Ham player had spent last season with Accrington Stanley but will now bolster the Lilywhites attack for the league run-in, as Stephen Kenny's side look to secure back-to-back titles.
The striker admits he is excited to work with manager Stephen Kenny and it was a ‘no-brainer’ when the call came.
Maguire said: “The major factor was Stephen Kenny. I know he seen me play for Waterford against Dundalk in the playoff in 2012 and he liked me then and I think he enjoyed my performances with Sligo last year so I think that had a factor but I am excited to link up with the manager, he’s great at developing players and you can see that with his track record."
Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers defender Tim Clancy has joined Sligo Rovers on loan until the end of the season.
The former Hibernians and St Johnstone defender signed for the Hoops at the start of the season but has failed to secure a regular first team place, making just eight appearances, including two as substitute.
Tim Clancy has signed a loan deal for the rest of the season with Sligo Rovers.

St Patrick’s Athletic midfielder Greg Bolger looks set to stay with the Saints for the rest of the season after the club rejected a bid from Scottish Premiership side Motherwell.
Bolger’s future has been uncertain throughout the transfer window with interest from Ian Baraclough’s side, while Cork City were also reportedly keen to sign up the 26-year-old for the 2016 season.
Bolger wrote on his Facebook page: “Yes there was a bid on the table from Motherwell and the club rejected it which I wasn't too happy about but that's football and [I] have to move on.
“I'm a St Pat’s player until the end of the year and will be doing my best to help the club finish as high as we can in the table and try [to] get back to the Aviva.”
St Pat's have recruited defender Shane McEleney from Derry City. McEleney has been one of Derry's better performers in a poor season for the Candystripes.
Conor McCormack swapped Pat's for Derry earlier in the week.
Kenny Browne has been linked with a move away from Inchicore this week but it remains to be seen if moves will materialise.
Bohemians have also added to their squad today with the capture of Jake Kelly from Dundalk.
The former Bray attacker has struggled to break into the starting XI at Oriel Park and with the addition of Ciaran Kilduff earlier this week, Stephen Kenny has allowed Kelly to move to Bohs.
