Andy Keogh looks set for a move to Thailand

Perth Glory have confirmed that they are “in the process of terminating” Ireland striker Andy Keogh’s contract.

The Australian club confirmed that the 29-year-old had received an offer from an overseas club that they “could not compete with”.

Keogh, who scored 12 goals in 27 A-League games last season, had one year left on his contract and has been linked to Thai side Ratchaburi.

He was involved in a salary-cap scandal at the end of last season, which saw the club thrown out of the championship play-offs.

A statement on the club’s website read: "Upon his return to Perth late last week, Keogh received an offer from an overseas club, which Perth Glory could not compete with.

“Perth Glory exhausted every avenue to resolve certain terms and conditions relating to Keogh's contract from last year and offered him a new and transparent deal that did not breach the salary cap.

“After several talks with Keogh and his management the club decided not to stand in his way, subject to Perth Glory being compensated.”

The former Wolves and Millwall man won the first of 29 Ireland caps against Equador in 2007.

Defensive midfielder Benjamin Stambouli has left Tottenham Hotspur to join Paris Saint-Germain on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old made 12 appearances after joining Spurs last September from Montpellier.

"I wasn't necessarily planning to leave the Premier League after one year but when a club with the stature of Paris Saint-Germain calls you, it makes your choice a lot easier," Stambouli said in a statement from PSG.

The former France under-21 player was a member of the Montpellier squad that won the Ligue 1 title in 2012.

PSG paid a fee of about £6million for Stambouli, according to British media reports.

"He is a French player who has already proved the impact that he can make in midfield both athletically and technically," PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said.

"France is going to rediscover a player that was full of promises when he was playing in Ligue 1."

Newcastle have signed striker Aleksandar Mitrovic on a five-year deal from Anderlecht.

The 20-year-old arrives subject to receiving the appropriate visa in a deal the club claims is the fourth biggest in their history.

The Serbia international said: "There will be pressure here, for sure, but I like pressure. I also know about the famous players who have played for Newcastle United, like Alan Shearer who is a hero of mine. I hope I can play like him for this club. It will be an honour."

Watford midfielder Almen Abdi has signed a new three-year contract, the club have announced.

Abdi arrived at Vicarage Road from Udinese in 2012 and has scored 23 goals in 92 appearances for the Hornets.

The 28-year-old won Watford's 2012-13 player of the season award and was a key part in the club securing automatic promotion from the Championship last season.

Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford has completed a season-long loan move to Crystal Palace.

The 21-year-old won the Championship Player of the Year award for his displays whilst at Middlesbrough last season, scoring 17 goals as the Teessiders lost the play-off final to Norwich - and he will now look to prove he can replicate such form in the top-flight.

Bamford, an England Under-21 international, has also spent time away from Stamford Bridge with temporary spells at MK Dons and Derby having originally signed for Chelsea from the Nottingham Forest academy.

Announcing the signing on their official Twitter page, the Eagles posted: "BREAKING: #CPFC are delighted to announce the signing of @Patrick--Bamford on a season-long loan from @ChelseaFC."
