Dave Barry concerned about Shamrock Rovers' failure to fire

Shamrock Rovers’ failure to score an away goal in last week’s Europa League first-round qualifying first-leg tie may come back to haunt them, says Dave Barry.

Ahead of the Hoops' home leg against Progrès Niederkorn tonight (8pm) at Tallaght Stadium, the former Cork legend told RTÉ Sport’s Soccer Republic that last week’s 0-0 draw in Luxembourg could be telling.

“It’s the away goal [that concerns me]. To score an away goal in Europe is massive," said Barry.

"If you can score away from home it’s a big result in Europe. But you just keep your fingers crossed.”

Rovers will be without injured former Ireland international midfielders Stephen McPhail and Keith Fahey.
