Galway United v St Patrick's Athletic, 7.45pm

Galway United recorded their first away win of the season in convincing fashion on Saturday evening at the Carlisle Grounds, routing Bray Wanderers in an impressive, attacking performance.

There were many positives to take from the game, including Enda Curran's hat-trick, Padraic Cunningham's first league goal for the club and Ryan Connolly's thunderbolt from over 30 yards.

As the first series of games comes towards an end, manager Tommoy Dunne took time to assess the clubs progress so far in 2015.

"I think we've had some difficult games in the first phase but we've picked up three crucial wins," the Dubliner said.

"We would've liked to have more points on the board and I honestly think we've deserved them but we are where we are.

"I feel like we should have nothing to fear within this league, we have to be more ruthless in our play and I think that's starting to become more evident in recent weeks. We're working on it."

Long-term injury victims Jason Molloy (broken toe), Andy O'Connell (ankle) and Kilian Cantwell (knee) all remain sidelined for United.

St Pat's are without the services of Togo international Cyril Guedje who misses out with a calf strain, while last year’s top-scorer Christy Fagan will face a late fitness on a knee injury.

Defender Ian Bermingham, meanwhile, is set for his 150th league game for the Saints should he make an appearance.

Manager Liam Buckley is targeting a win to held his side build on last week's victory over Sligo Rovers.

"We need to now put together a consistent run of performances and hopefully we can do that in Galway," he said.

"They’re a good side though so it won’t be easy. But we’ll go there with the aim of performing well and getting the three points."

Shamrock Rovers v Drogheda United, 8pm

Pat Fenlon's side will be hoping to bounce back from the disappointment of only picking up a point at bottom-placed Limerick FC last weekend, though it could have been worse but for substitute Brandon Miele's late equaliser for Rovers.

A win tonight at Tallaght would see Rovers leapfrog Cork City and move into second spot, with Cork not in action until Monday's visit to Bohemians at Dalymount Park.

Fenlon has been hit with a defensive injury crisis throughout the early season and tonight defender Dave Webster is the latest doubt for the fixture.

Having won their opening two matches of the season, Drogheda have endured a poor run of results that has seen the Boynesiders pick up only two points from the last 24 available.

United’s season hit its lowest point last Friday as they were beaten 3-0 at home to Longford Town but Drogheda boss Johnny McDonnell has no interest in excuses for an abject performance.

“I was very disappointed with how we played on Friday,” McDonnell said.

“I’m not sure why we were so poor but I can assure all the fans that no one was more disappointed and frustrated with the performance than the players themselves.”

Drogs recorded their first ever league win at Tallaght Stadium last season with Gavan Holohan’s goal bringing an end to the five-year wait, though Drogheda did lose both league games at home as well as being eliminated from the EA Sports Cup by Rovers.

Defender Neil Yadolahi has returned to training but remains a couple of weeks away from selection, while Sean Thornton will serve a one-match ban for his dismissal against Longford. Lloyd Buckley is an injury doubt and will be assessed before kick-off.
