Following their 3-1 win against Galway in Eamon Deacy park last Sunday, it is Peamount United’s turn to host the west coast club as both teams face each other again, this time with a place in the Continental Tyres Women’s National League cup final at stake.
Peamount will be full of confidence on the back of last week’s victory, and progressing to a cup final will be made all the more sweeter if they can do so playing in front of their home supporters.
Manager Robbie Mulligan knows his young team will be up for the challenge, saying: ”The squad as a whole are excited to be playing in a semi final in front of our home supporters.
"The girls have put in a lot of work over the last few months and we are hoping to see it pay off this weekend and for the remainder of the season.
"Coming off the back of two away games where we picked up 4 out of 6 points, with a credible draw to Raheny and a win against Galway, we go into this game full of confidence.”
However he knows the Peas face a difficult task against a Galway WFC side who will be looking to avenge last week's league defeat.
Mulligan continued: “Despite our successful 3-1 win last week against Galway, we are under no illusions of how difficult this weekend's game will be.
"Don has been building a strong young group at Galway all season, and it is fair to say results have not matched the effort and work that is being put in.
"We expect a tough game and it is a given that league form and results will go out the window when it comes to a league cup semi final as both sides dream of the cup final on the horizon.”
