Wexford Youths kept their Continental Tyres Women’s National League title charge on course with a 3-0 victory over Castlebar Celtic on Saturday evening.
Youths travelled to Castlebar with a four-point lead over champions Raheny United, who were idle this weekend.
Ashling Frawley gave Youths the lead on 48 minutes.
Four minutes before the hour mark Claire O’Riordan latched onto an Edel Kennedy through ball then progressed to slot home her 13th goal of the season.
O’Riordan went on to put the game beyond Castlebar by grabbing her 14th of the season and moving Wexford seven points clear at the top of the table.
Elsewhere, UCD Waves kept themselves in contention with a 6-0 victory over Cork City in Bishopstown.
Just 16 minutes passed before Waves broke the scoring as Catherine Cronin finished off an Aine O’Gorman cross.
O’Gorman then found the net on 35 minutes racing onto Julie Ann Russell’s through ball and finding the net for the 15th time this season.
Then O’Gorman grabbed her second of the day five minutes after the restart before completing her hat-trick in the 66th minute with a low drive.
Jetta Berrill made it five on 78 minutes finishing over Orlagh Nolan’s cross before wrapping up on the scoring on 79 minutes.
O’Gorman now leads the leading goal scorer's list with 17 for the season, three clear of Wexford’s Claire O’Riordan with Raheny United’s Katie McCabe in third place with 12 goals.
Meanwhile, Peamount United picked up their third victory of the season coming from behind to pick up all three points away to Galway WFC.
Ruth Fahy gave the Tribeswomen the lead after 15 minutes - knocking home her sixth goal of the season - before teenager Eleanor Ryan Doyle equalised just four minutes later.
Former Galway striker Sinead Taylor came back to haunt her old club when she went on to find the net for the first time in Peamount colours.
Claire Kinsella sealed the victory for the Peas with 15 minutes of normal time remaining leaving Peamount in fourth position overall with 16 points.
