Former Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy celebrated his 100th game in charge of Ipswich Town with a deserved 2-1 win over old club Wolves - which saw Daryl Murphy become the joint top scorer in the Championship.
Murphy scored his ninth and tenth of the season to continue his rich vein of form - and earn the plaudits of his delighted manager.
McCarthy said: "It was a fabulous performance and Daryl Murphy has been great. I was delighted, we played well and I think we deserved the win - it is better still when you deserve the win."
Asked if the result was even sweeter against his former club, McCarthy added: "I have no axe to grind or bitterness with Wolves.
"I loved my time there. But I prefer to get text messages from people at Wolves saying, 'Well done'."
Ipswich took the lead 10 minutes before the interval when Murphy dispossessed Kevin McDonald before firing a lethal shot into the far corner.
It was no more than the hosts deserved with Murphy, David McGoldrick and Jay Tabb all going close in an entertaining first half.
Wolves hit back after the restart although their equaliser in the 53rd minute was a little fortuitous, James Henry's wicked cross evading everyone and nestling into the far corner.
Parity lasted just six minutes when a horrendous pass by Lee Evans was seized upon by McGoldrick to tee up the onrushing Murphy who coolly chipped Carl Ikeme for his second of the night.
Both sides had chances to add to the score, which led to a nervy ending for the home fans, but Wolves were unable to continue their own fine recent run.
Elsewhere, Shane Duffy and Shaun Williams scored for Blackburn and Millwall respectively in their 2-2 draw, while Simon Cox hit a double for Reading in their 3-0 win over Rotherham.
