St Patrick's Athletic have been forced to move their UEFA Champions League qualifier against Legia Warsaw to Tallaght Stadium.

The game was originally scheduled for Richmond Park on 23 July.

However, gardaí raised a number of health and safety issues about the home ground of the SSE Airtricity League champions.

The Inchicore venue has been "deemed unsuitable" as a large crowd is expected at the game.

The club said: "The decision has been made after numerous discussions with the local authorities and An Garda Síochána, with Richmond Park always being the club's preferred venue for the tie.

"We can now confirm that the match will take place on Wednesday 23rd of July, at 19:45 in Tallaght Stadium."

The club said tickets for the game would be released next week.

St Pat's used the venue for their European games against Hannover in 2012 and Karpaty Lviv in 2011.
