Cork City have announced that striker Anthony Elding has left the club by mutual consent.
The English striker joined Cork at the start of the season with high hopes after a season with Sligo Rovers where he impressed.
However, his time at Cork was marred by injuries and he made just one appearance this season.
In a statement Elding thanked the club, saying: "I would like to thank everyone at the club for their support since I signed. Things have not worked out as we would have hoped, but sometimes that happens in football.
"I would also like to give a special mention to Timmy Murphy for helping myself and my family settle in. I want to wish the club the very best of luck for the rest of the season and for the future."
It is not yet known whether the 32-year-old intends to remain in the League of Ireland and join another club or if he'll return home to England.
