Holders Shamrock Rovers progressed to the semi-finals of the Setanta Sports Cup after a 5-1 aggregate win over Glentoran at The Oval.

Tonight’s second leg finished 0-0 in an even encounter in Belfast with the outcome of the tie never in doubt after the convincing win in Dublin for the SSE Airtricity League side.

The Hoops will meet Dundalk in the last four with the first leg to take place next Monday at Tallaght Stadium.

Sligo Rovers meet St Patrick's Athletic in the other semi-final, meaning there are no Irish League sides left in the competition.
