Champions Raheny United continued their perfect start to the new Bus Éireann Women's National League with a resounding 4-1 victory over Wexford Youths Women's AFC at Morton Stadium.

Terry Eviston's side killed the game off in a rampant first half which they led by four goals. Ciara Grant opened the scoring in the fourth minute and then Rebecca Creagh bagged a double to make it 3-0 after 20 minutes.

Katie McCabe added a fourth in the 38th minute and although Wexford pulled one back through Katie McCarthy in the 70th minute they could not turn the game around.

Meanwhile, DLR Waves suffered a 5-1 home defeat to an impressive Peamount United who also had a dominant first-half with Sara Lawlor scoring four goals before the break.

Jetta Berrill got the other goal as Peamount led 5-0 at half-time with Julie Ann Russell in outstanding form and Aine O'Gorman also impressing.

Aisling Byrne scored with a decent strike with ten minutes left to get on the score-sheet for DLR but the Peas deservedly claimed the points at a windswept Jackson Park.

The wind was also heavily influential as Galway WFC got their first win of the campaign 3-0 at home to Cork Women's FC at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Galway missed an early penalty through Sinead Taylor after Ruth Fahy had been fouled but Jenny Byrne tapped home from close range to give the Galwegians a half-time lead.

Lucy Hannon put the Galway girls 2-0 up with a slotted finish past goalkeeper Tish Fennelly and Meabh Coleman wrapped up the scoring late on. Unfortunately for Cork, Fennelly suffered an injury late on and x-rays showed that she had the misfortune of suffering a leg fracture.

In the final game of the day, Castlebar Celtic ran out 4-2 winners over Shamrock Rovers in an exciting encounter at Celtic Park.

Sara McGeogh broke the deadlock to put Celtic ahead on 25 minutes but the Hoops replied through Rosie Maguire six minutes later. Maz Sweeney restored Celtic's lead before the break.

McGeogh added her second goal of the day in the 54th minute but the Rovers response was immediate with Aisling Cusack making it 3-2 less than 60 seconds later.

Nicole Fowley wrapped up the scoring in the 74th minute.

Elsewhere, there will be top class international football in Dublin next week with the senior side facing Slovakia next Sunday at the Carlisle Grounds (1pm) and the Republic of Ireland U19 side meeting Kazakhstan in the UEFA Women’s U19 Qualifying Round at Dalymount Park on Saturday (7pm).
