Aiden McGeady has become the latest player to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland team to take on Wales in their international friendly at Cardiff next week.

McGeady will miss the game after sustaining a knee injury during training with his club Spartak Moscow.

The former Celtic player joins Stephen Quinn, David Forde, Anthony Pilkington and Simon Cox on the injury list.

Yeovil Town's Paddy Madden had already been placed on a standby list for the squad and McGeady's injury may be enough to see him get a call-up.
