Bray Wanderers striker Jason Byrne has been award the Airtricity/Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player of the Month award for June.
A return of five goals from as many Premier Division games saw the 35-year-old get the nod ahead of David McMillian (UCD, since transferred to Sligo Rovers) and Greg Bolger of St Patrick’s Athletic.
Byrne, who has ten league goals this season, will be back in action for the Seagulls when they host his former club Bohemians on Friday night.
It is the fifth time in his career that Byrne has won the monthly prize.
