Republic of Ireland international Richard Dunne is on the hunt for a new club as Aston Villa will not be renewing his contract.
Dunne has missed the entirety of the 2012/2013 season through a groin injury and will be allowed to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.
The defender underwent surgery last August and has made several trips to specialists in the USA but was unable to return to full match fitness at any stage during the season.
Dunne may not be the only Irishman on the way out of Villa as manager Paul Lambert looks to rebuild the squad.
Along with Dunne, Shay Given and Stephen Ireland are among the higher earners at the club who have not featured prominently this season and as Lambert looks to youth, they too could find themselves in search of a new club.
Lambert said: "We’ve had to strip the squad right back and get it going. Randy has been fantastic with it and he understands what we are trying to do. We are trying to build a club.
"Any club will be busy and trying to do something but we have set a standard that we have got to do better. To do that you have to keep trying to build your squad and keep belief in your own philosophy."
