FAI Ford Cup holders Derry City will begin their defence of the trophy against non-league Blarney United.

The Cork minnows secured a home draw against the Candystripes when the draw for the second round of the competition was made in Dublin this evening.

The draw, which was broadcast live on RTÉ’s MNS, was conducted by FAI president Paddy McCaul and Nicky Byrne of the now-defunct Westlife.

There will be two all-Premier Division encounters, with St Patrick’s Athletic welcoming UCD to Richmond Park and Drogheda United travelling to Dalymount Park to face Bohemians.

Shamrock Rovers, the most successful club in the competition’s history with 24 title, face a trip to Salthill Devon.

The fixtures will take place on the weekend ending Sunday 2 June.
