Football Association of Ireland chief executive John Delaney will see his annual salary reduced by 10% from €400,000 to €360,000.
Delaney, who commanded a peak salary of €431,687 in 2010, revealed the news at the FAI’s AGM in Letterkenny today.
The Waterford official took a pay cut of just over 7% last season and is due to remain at the helm of the association until at least 2015.
“We have a duty to our members to make the most effective use of our resources,” Delaney told those assembled at the Letterkenny AGM.
“No business survives unless it adapts. Difficult times are ahead for everyone, but we are prepared to meet the challenges.
“In my own case I will take a further 10% pay cut.”
Qualification for the European Championships and a record 11 home internationals last year, saw the association post an impressive turnover of €45million and an operating surplus of €6million.
However, there is just one competitive home game this year, against Germany in the World Cup qualifier in October, and revenues are expected to be significantly lower.
The figures for 2011 were also boosted by the hosting of the Carling Cup, Dublin Super Cup and the Europa League final.
Aviva Stadium debt remains at €50million, but the association insists the loan is manageable and that all loan repayments and commitments have been met so far.
