The draw for the third round of the FAI Cup took place live on MNS this evening with Shamrock Rovers’ home tie with Cork City the pick of the bunch.
The hat contained an odd number due to Monaghan United's progression over holders Sligo Rovers in the second round before the club withdrew from both the Airtricity League and FAI Ford Cup in mid June.
As a result, St Pat's received a bye to the quarter-finals after being the first team drawn.
The third round ties will take place on the week ending Sunday 26 August.
