According to Richie Sadlier the arguments for Liverpool removing Kenny Dalglish are "plentiful".
Speaking on RTE's Premier Soccer Saturday the former Irish International said he would like to hear what the arguments are for Liverpool keeping Dalglish into a new season.
"They have won one game in nine, you don't just miss out on a Champions League spot because of that, that's relegation form," said Sadlier.
He also was scathing when talking about what he perceives to be the lowering of expectations at Liverpool.
Sadlier continued: "They have elevated the importance of the Carling Cup to be something to be more proud of more so than chasing Champions League spots. That's nonsense.
"Steven Gerard said something like winning trophies is what Liverpool is about we don't aspire to finish fourth or well in the league.
"That's an outdated attitude, certain players will only come to a club if there is Champions League football to play in."
When asked if the ‘honeymoon’ period for Kenny Dalglish could come to an end Sadlier said.
"If the results they’re currently getting continue it’ll come to an end very soon.”
"League position is a true indication of progress of a club - winning League Cups is not.”
Liverpool are away to Blackburn Rovers in the league this Tuesday before squaring up to Merseyside rivals Everton in next Saturday’s FA Cup semi Final.
