Bolton's doctor Jonathan Tobin said on Wednesday that Muamba had been had been able to recount the dramatic events at White Hart Lane and that they player was continuing to make progress.
I'm glad to say that the early signs of recovery have continued. I went to see Fabrice last night. I went in and he said 'Hi, doc'.
"I asked him how he was and he said 'Fine'.
Dr Tobin said the player had asked him what had happened.
"I explained to him what had happened," he said. That's the sort of level of communication I have had with Fabrice."
Tobin revealed it took 15 shocks to get the player's heart started again.
It had been stopped for two hours, raising fears of significant brain damage, even if Muamba survived.
Although the player remains in intensive care, it does appear that scenario has been avoided.
And after he told his players of the latest news when they returned to training this morning, Coyle revealed Saturday's game would go ahead as planned.
"We spoke together with the players as a group this morning and I talked with Fabrice's family last night," Coyle told www.bwfc.co.uk.
"Fabrice's father Marcel and his fiancee Shauna were keen that we fulfil our fixtures. Once the players knew this, there was no doubt in our mind that we would play the matches."
