Shamrock Rovers have announced that manager Michael O’Neill will leave the club when his current contract finishes at the end of December.
The Hoops released a statement this afternoon confirming the upcoming departure of O'Neill after three years in charge.
Rovers said: "The club would like to thank Michael for the great success he has brought to the club during his three year tenure at Shamrock Rovers, and we would like to wish him the best for his future career.
"Everyone at the club is focused on Thursday night’s big Europa League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Tallaght Stadium, and the club will not be making any further comment on this matter."
O'Neill won two Premier Division titles and the Setanta Cup with the Hoops, and then led them to the group stages of the Europa League.
The defeat of Partizan Belgrade saw Rovers become the first Irish side to compete at that level and is undoubtedly the highlight of O'Neill's time at Tallaght Stadium.
He is in contention to become the new manager of Northern Ireland with the BBC reporting he will be interviewed next week.
The hunt for a new Hoops boss will begin after Thursday's game.
