BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Newcastle v Everton
Gabriel Obertan will miss Newcastle's home clash with Everton on Saturday through illness.
The former Manchester United winger is sidelined by an infection and is likely to be replaced by Sylvain Marveaux as the Magpies attempt to maintain their unbeaten start to the Barclays Premier League campaign.
Cheik Tiote (knee) remains a doubt, while Shola Ameobi (hamstring) will be out for several weeks yet.
Newcastle squad: Krul, Elliot, Simpson, R Taylor, Santon, Ferguson, Coloccini, S Taylor, Perch, Cabaye, Gutierrez, Marveaux, Gosling, Guthrie, Ben Arfa, Abeid, Vuckic, Smith, Ba, Best, Lovenkrands, Sammy Ameobi.
Marouane Fellaini is suspended for Everton's trip to Newcastle after accruing five bookings this season.
However, fellow midfielder Royston Drenthe returns having served a one-match ban in last weekend's defeat at home to Manchester United.
Phil Neville (hamstring), Sylvain Distin and midfielder Tim Cahill, both carrying knocks, will all have late fitness tests.
Everton squad: Howard, Hibbert, Heitinga, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Drenthe, Bilyaletdinov, Cahill, Barkley, Osman, Saha, Vellios, Mucha, Neville, Mustafi, Stracqualursi, McFadden, Gueye.
Arsenal v West Brom
Robin van Persie will return to the Arsenal starting line-up for tomorrow's Barclays Premier League clash against West Brom.
The Holland international was named as a substitute for the midweek 0-0 draw against Marseille in the Champions League, although manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will start against the Baggies.
Wenger expects to name the same squad used against Marseille and is without Marouane Chamakh (knee), Kieran Gibbs (stomach), Abou Diaby (hamstring), Jack Wilshere and Bacary Sagna (both ankle).
Arsenal squad: Szczesny, Santos, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Jenkinson, Walcott, Song, Ramsey, Arteta, Van Persie, Gervinho, Fabianski, Rosicky, Park, Benayoun, Frimpong, Djourou, Arshavin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Miyaichi.
West Brom midfielder Paul Scharner has been ruled out of Saturday's clash at Arsenal with a knee ligament problem which flared up during last weekend's home defeat against Liverpool.
Manager Roy Hodgson will check on the fitness of striker Peter Odemwingie, who suffered a knock to his knee in training this week, before finalising his side.
But Odemwingie's strike partner Shane Long is again unavailable with the knee injury sustained against Aston Villa a fortnight ago.
West Brom squad: Foster, Fulop, Reid, Jones, Jara, Olsson, McAuley, Dawson, Tamas, Mattock, Shorey, Brunt, Morrison, Mulumbu, Dorrans, Thomas, Gera, Tchoyi, Odemwingie, Cox, Fortune.
Aston Villa v Norwich
Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan is available after a club suspension for Saturday's home Barclays Premier League clash with Norwich.
The Scotland international was not considered for the 2-2 draw at Sunderland while Villa held an internal inquiry after his arrest on suspicion of drink driving.
On-loan Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas is also available after recovering from thigh and calf problems and returning to full training. Full-back Eric Lichaj (hip) is Villa's only injury casualty.
Aston Villa squad: Given, Guzan, Hutton, Collins, Dunne, Clark, Warnock, Beye, Herd, Delph, Bannan, Petrov, Ireland, Jenas, Albrighton, Gardner, Bent, Heskey, Agbonlahor, N'Zogbia, Weimann, Delfouneso.
Norwich have no fresh injury worries heading into their trip to Aston Villa.
Captain Grant Holt is pressing for a recall after again coming off the bench last weekend to score when he levelled with a stoppage-time penalty against Blackburn.
Centre-back Zak Whitbread continues his recovery from a hamstring injury. Striker James Vaughan, defenders Elliott Ward and Daniel Ayala (all knee) are long-term absentees.
Norwich squad: Ruddy, Tierney, Barnett, Martin, Naughton, Fox, Johnson, Hoolahan, Pilkington, Bennett, Morison, Rudd, Holt, Crofts, Jackson, Wilbraham, Surman, de Laet.
Blackburn Rovers v Chelsea
John Terry looks set to return to the Chelsea side for tomorrow's Barclays Premier League game at Blackburn.
The Blues and England captain was an unused substitute in Tuesday night's Champions League draw at Genk hours after police launched a formal investigation into allegations he racially abused QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.
John Obi Mikel has shaken off a back problem, while Hilario (flu) and the suspended Didier Drogba (arm) will return after the international break.
Chelsea squad: Cech, Bosingwa, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Luiz, Mikel, Romeu, Ramires, Lampard, Mata, Malouda, Meireles, McEachran, Torres, Kalou, Sturridge, Anelka, Lukaku, Turnbull.
Blackburn boss Steve Kean has no fresh injury worries ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash against Chelsea at Ewood Park.
Under-fire Kean was boosted by last week's 4-3 Carling Cup win over Newcastle before Rovers were denied victory over Norwich thanks to a stoppage-time penalty.
Kean is unlikely to make many changes but midfielder David Dunn is back in contention after recovering from a calf injury and Junior Hoilett has recovered after suffering a tightening of his hamstring last weekend. Ryan Nelsen (knee), Michel Salgado (hamstring), Scott Dann (calf) and Vince Grella (hip) are still ruled out.
Blackburn squad: Robinson, Bunn, Lowe, Samba, Givet, Hanley, Olsson, Rochina, Pedersen, Nzonzi, Petrovic, Dunn, Vukcevic, Hoilett, Yakubu, Goodwillie, Formica, Roberts, Slew.
Liverpool v Swansea
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will miss the visit of Swansea after being ruled out for the next fortnight with an ankle infection.
Gerrard's absence means midfielder Jordan Henderson, who deputised in last week's win at West Brom, is likely to keep his place.
Defender Jamie Carragher's calf injury which forced him to miss the match at The Hawthorns will be assessed late on to see whether the centre-back is ready to return.
Liverpool squad: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Henderson, Adam, Lucas, Downing, Suarez, Carroll, Doni, Kelly, Flanagan, Coates, Robinson, Spearing, Kuyt, Rodriguez, Bellamy.
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers is boosted by the return of Kemy Agustien for their trip to Anfield.
The Dutch midfielder has been out for six weeks with a hamstring problem, and he is likely to make his return on the bench with Mark Gower, Leon Britton and Joe Allen having performed so well in his absence.
But the trip to face the Reds comes too soon for Stephen Dobbie, who is likely to return following the international break after an ankle injury.
Swansea squad: Vorm, Williams, Taylor, Britton, Orlandi, Graham, Sinclair, Dyer, Routledge, Monk, Lita, Moore, Bessone, Rangel, Allen, Tremmel, Agustien, Gower, Richards, Moras.
Mancester United v Sunderland
Skipper Nemanja Vidic returns for Manchester United as they look to record a fourth straight win since their derby-day annihilation when they entertain Sunderland.
Michael Owen (thigh) joins Ashley Young (toe), Ryan Giggs (hamstring), Chris Smalling (foot) and Tom Cleverley (ankle) on the sidelines.
United have not lost at home to the Black Cats since 1968, whilst Steve Bruce has never recorded a victory as a manager against his old club.
Man United squad: De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Jones, Rafael, Fabio, Ferdinand, Evans, Vidic, Valencia, Anderson, Park, Fletcher, Gibson, Nani, Diouf, Hernandez, Rooney, Berbatov, Welbeck.
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce will make a late decision on midfielder David Vaughan.
The 28-year-old is struggling with a groin injury, which could hand a chance to skipper Lee Cattermole to force his way back into the team.
Keeper Simon Mignolet is out for at least eight weeks with a fractured nose and eye socket - Trevor Carson has been recalled from his loan spell at Bury to provide back-up to Keiren Westwood - while John O'Shea (hamstring) will miss out against his former club.
Sunderland squad: Westwood, Carson, Brown, Bardsley, Richardson, Turner, Laing, Cattermole, Gardner, Vaughan, Larsson, Colback, Elmohamady, Meyler, Sessegnon, Bendtner, Wickham, Ji, McClean, Cook.
QPR v Manchester City
QPR are struggling to fill their bench for tomorrow's Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester City.
Shaun Derry is out with a groin problem, Akos Buzsaky has an Achilles complaint, Rob Hulse is sidelined with a knee injury and DJ Campbell is missing to foot damage.
However, Kieron Dyer could return from his foot injury while Adel Taarabt may play despite suffering from a stomach complaint.
QPR squad: Kenny, Hall, Gabbidon, Taarabt, Traore, Bothroyd, Faurlin, Orr, Dyer, Barton, Young, Smith, Helguson, Murphy, Wright-Phillips, Ferdinand, Puncheon.
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany misses the trip to QPR as he serves a suspension for his sending off against Wolves.
Playmaker David Silva will be assessed after being substituted during the midweek Champions League win at Villarreal with a back injury.
Joleon Lescott is expected to return in place of Kompany with Stefan Savic retaining his spot. Owen Hargreaves will hope to be in contention after a minor calf injury but Carlos Tevez is likely to remain frozen out.
Man City squad: Hart, Richards, Kolarov, Lescott, Y Toure, De Jong, Milner, Barry, Silva, Balotelli, Dzeko, Aguero, Savic, Clichy, Johnson, Zabaleta, Nasri, K Toure, Hargreaves, Pantilimon.
Wolves v Wigan (Sunday)
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy will make a late fitness check on striker Steven Fletcher before finalising his plans for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash with Wigan at Molineux.
Three-goal leading scorer Fletcher has missed the last three games with a calf problem but returned to full training today.
McCarthy expects playmaker Jamie O'Hara (knee) and Stephen Hunt (back) to be fit after missing training during the early part of the week following the 3-1 reversal at Manchester City.
Wolves squad: Hennessey, De Vries, Stearman, Johnson, Berra, Ward, Hammill, Henry, O'Hara, Jarvis, Hunt, Doyle, Doherty, Elokobi, Craddock, Milijas, Guedioura, Edwards, Ebanks-Blake, Fletcher, Vokes.
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez is sweating on the fitness of Mohamed Diame for Sunday's crucial trip to Wolves.
Scans have shown Diame suffered no major damage to his ankle following a tough challenge from Fulham's Steve Sidwell last week, but the Senegal midfielder will not train until tomorrow and will only be involved if he suffers no reaction.
The Latics will be without skipper Gary Caldwell, who serves a one-match suspension after picking up five bookings this season.
Wigan squad: Al Habsi, Boyce, Alcaraz, Figueroa, Watson, Diame, Moses, Gomez, McCarthy, Di Santo, Jones, Pollitt, Stam, Van Aanholt, McArthur, Lopez, Thomas, Sammon, Maloney, Crusat, Gohouri, Rodallega, McCarthy.
Bolton Wanderers v Stoke City (Sunday)
Ricardo Gardner joins the list of absentees for Bolton's Barclays Premier League clash with Stoke at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday.
Gardner is serving a one-match ban after being sent off in last week's 3-1 defeat at Swansea for collecting two yellow cards, and is likely to be replaced by Paul Robinson, who was benched for the game at the Liberty Stadium.
Boss Owen Coyle, without long-term injured Tyrone Mears, Lee Chung-yong, Stuart Holden, Sean Davis and Sam Ricketts, has no fresh concerns going into the game.
Bolton squad: Jaaskelainen, Wheater, Steinsson, Cahill, Knight, Eagles, Robinson, Muamba, Reo-Coker, Petrov, K Davies, Klasnic, Tuncay, Bogdan, M Davies, Pratley, Ngog, Blake, Kakuta.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis is keeping his fingers crossed that a number of his key players will have recovered from injury in time for Sunday's trip to Bolton.
Neither Ryan Shawcross nor Marc Wilson travelled to Israel for last night's Europa League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv after picking up muscle injuries in the defeat by Newcastle on Monday while Matthew Etherington (back), Jermaine Pennant and Rory Delap were only fit enough for the bench.
Danny Higginbotham came through 90 minutes on his return from seven months out with a cruciate ligament injury while Cameron Jerome and Jonathan Woodgate are back in the squad after missing the Tel Aviv trip through suspension and ineligibility respectively.
Stoke squad: Begovic, Sorensen, Nash, Huth, Upson, Woodgate, Shawcross, Wilson, Wilkinson, Whelan, Whitehead, Diao, Etherington, Walters, Jerome, Shotton, Arismendi, Pennant, Delap, Crouch, Palacios, Jones, Higginbotham.
Fulham v Tottenham (Sunday)
Fulham captain Danny Murphy is a slight doubt for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash against Tottenham.
The 34-year-old came off with a slight knee complaint in the second half of Thursday's 4-1 defeat of Wisla Krakow in the Europa League, but is hopeful of featuring against his former club.
Bryan Ruiz was ineligible for the tie so will return against Spurs, as will Mousa Dembele who served a one-match European ban.
Orlando Sa (hamstring), Philippe Senderos and Aaron Hughes (both thigh) are out.
Fulham squad: Schwarzer, Etheridge, Kelly, Riise, Hangeland, Baird, Dembele, Grygera, Briggs, Sidwell, Kasami, Murphy, Gecov, Duff, Etuhu, Dempsey, Johnson, Zamora, Ruiz.
Tottenham defender William Gallas could make his first Barclays Premier League appearance of the season at Fulham on Sunday after he suffered no reaction when making his comeback from a calf injury in last night's defeat to Rubin Kazan.
Luka Modric has a slight groin problem but should be fit while Roman Pavlyuchenko came off with a back complaint in his homeland yesterday and will be monitored over the next couple of days.
Michael Dawson (Achilles), Niko Kranjcar (thigh) and Tom Huddlestone (ankle) are all out while there are doubts over Giovani dos Santos (calf), Vedran Corluka (foot), and Danny Rose (ankle).
Tottenham squad: Gomes, Friedel, Cudicini, Bale, Kaboul, Corluka, Bassong, Gallas, King, Walker, Assou-Ekotto, Rose, Parker, Modric, Livermore, Townsend, Carroll, Lennon, Falque, Sandro, Pienaar, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe, Dos Santos, Adebayor, Van der Vaart.
