Greek police are expecting some sort of protest at Shamrock Rovers’ Europa League clash with the PAOK tonight as part of the two days of general strike and protest over austerity measures in the country.
Rovers boss Michael O'Neill was forced to call off a planned walk on the beach for the squad this morning on police advice.
Instead they were told to go to the more controlled environment of a shopping centre and but for 90 minutes have been confined to their hotel for the day.
Buses carrying Rovers fans to the match will be escorted to the ground departing from the White Monument on the sea front in Salonika, departing 90 minutes before kick-off.
Rovers fans have been advised not to make their own way to the venue.
