2139 So that's it for tonight. Don't forget to join us on Saturday for live updates on Scotland v Ireland in rugby and the enticing clash at Croke Park where Dublin take on Tyrone in the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.

2136 Shamrock Rovers' Champions League adventure is over for this year. No disgrace, but Copenhagen's extra class told in the end, despite playing very well in the opening half hour when they did hit the woodwork.

FULL TIME: Shamrock Rovers 0-2 FC Copenhagen

94 min Sullivan is stretchered off. Bad news for Rovers with key league games to come, including the tussle with Bohemians on Friday night.

91 min Rovers' Pat Sullivan down injured in his own penalty box after an accidental clash with Sives. The game is stopped.

89 min Copenhagen's physical advantage is clearly evident now. However, Rovers will have learnt a lot from their experience this year. The game ticks into inury time. Two added minutes.

88 min Shamrock Rovers man of the match is Enda Stevens according to RTÉ co-commentator Damien Richardson.

85 min Copenhagen are finishing the stronger and are looking for a third. That would be a bit harsh on Rovers - who must now look towards the Europa League. The draw for the play-off round will be made on Friday. As I write, sub Santin is on the end of a brilliant move from Copenhagen, but Ryan Thompson saves brilliantly.

84 min Cesar Santin on for Pate Diouf. The Rovers players look fatigued.

Martin Wyer has e-mailed in: "Poor Rovers are toothless up front, a brave effort from the lads for sure, but the difference between the two sides has been the level of tenacity in the box. Copenhagen punished us twice, all we can seem to do is mince around in the box."

81 min Rory Houston in Tallaght: "Rovers consigned to defeat as Bolanos bundles the ball in after N'Doye's header. Finn and Twigg withdrawn with an eye on the Dublin derby on Friday. It is a shame but I don't think the Hoops forced the game enough. Relying on luck more than their talented players."

78 min Irish American Thomas Delaney comes on for Christian Bolanos

76 min Copenhagen's extra class is telling now. N'Doye's silken skills have had a telling effect.

75 min Stephen Rice on for Ronan Finn - Ciaran Kilduff on for Gary Twigg.

73 min COPENHAGEN GOAL - A Cross in was well met by N'Doye and his header is well saved by Thompson, but the rebound finds Christian Bolanos who taps it in. Tie well and truly settled now.

70 min Copenhagen are now coping well with what Rovers are throwing a them. Twigg still operating more or less as the sole front man.

68 min Enda Stevens' cross may have touched the arm of a Copenhagen. Harsh call if penalty was awarded. Even a draw tonight would help the Airtricity League in the UEFA standings.

67 min Copenhagen, through Bolanos, makes Rovers keeper Thompson after a crisply hit shot from inside the penalty area.

64 min Shamrock Rovers change - Dean Kelly for Gary McCabe. Will Kelly play in a more forward role with Twigg?

62 min Rovers, you feel, would need to score quickly. They have a free kick, but it's a tame effort. The team need a bit of extra energy and the crowd seem to have gone quiet.

59 min First corner of the half to Copenhagen. Swung over from Bengtsson causes panic but Thompson is alert and scrambles it clear. Another corner from Bolanos is fetched impressively by Thompson.

57 min Again Rovers make inroads, but the ball would not sit down for Chris Turner and the Danes scrape it clear.

55 min Rovers win a soft enough free kick after McCabe is fouled. McCabe takes the kick and Twigg's effort goes narrowly wide. Element of luck not with the Dublin side tonight.

53 min Lovely turn from N'Doye in the box and the Rovers fans gasp, but his attempted shot is blocked. The visitors are playing keep ball well.

51 min Early pressure in the half from Rovers, but Danes are defending well.

48 min Early chances for Turner after good work from Finn. not enough power in the shot

2045 Teams are back out on the pitch. No changes on either side.

2032 Our man Rory with his account of the Copenhagen goal: "Cruel blow to the Hoops as they are undone by a set-piece. They didn't make the most of their spell of domination and poor defending gave N'doye the chance which deflected in off Turner. That is likely to be the end of their Champions League hopes."

46 min It's an even game so far, but N'Doye's growing presence on the game saw him at the right place at the right time and the Danes are 2-0 ahead in the tie.

45 min Rovers attacking - and Pierre Bengtsson outstretched foot keeps the home side out. One minute of added time.

42 min The goal came about after a Shamrock Rovers players headed on the corner and the fell to the goalscorer who prodded it in. Sense of deflation now in D24.

41 min FC COPENHAGEN GOAL - Corner for Copenhagen after Rovers clear the threat from N'Doye's shot. Bolanos takes it and N'Doye forces it home from close range. Rovers now need three to advance.

39 min Rovers still getting the crosses in. Twigg, perhaps, needs more support in the middle when the ball arrives. Enda Stevens having a stormer of a game for the home side.

38 min Rovers get their first corner of the game. Gary McCabe hits it in, but it's cleared easily.

36 min Atmosphere inside the ground has not let up since the start

33 min Copenhagen centre forward N'Doye is starting to exert his presence. The Danes win a corner and when it breaks, Brazilian Claudemir's shot shaves the Rovers right hand post.

31 min Shamrock Rovers need to up the tempo again and must keep their shape. Billy Dennehy puts pressure on the Danish keeper who knocks the ball out of play. Throw in is nooded on to Twigg who has a half chance, but hits the ball with his shin and it goes over.

29 min Free-kick from Bolanos comes to nothing as Rovers do a good job in their man marking duties.

28 min FIRST DECENT CHANCE FOR COPENHAGEN - Dame N'Doye from distance hits a powerful shot that is well saved by Thompson. Corner comes in - a bit of head tennis - eventually ends with a Copenhagen free-kick on the edge of the area.

27 min A rush of blood from Ragnar Sigurdsson sees his shot end up near Tallaght Hospital.

25 min Another poor ball is delivered by Christian Bolanos. The Danes seem devoid of creativity at the moment. Still, they continue to lead in the tie.

24 min Dame N'Doye tries to play in Pate Diouf, but Thompson is alert as Copenhagen decide to up their work rate.

22 min Rory Houston RTÉ Sport at Tallght Stadium: "Copenhagen look a bit laboured and sloppy and there is a huge opportunity for Rovers here. They must up it now and get the goal while the Danish side struggle - Turner was so close with that header and a goal could be imminent."

19 min Another great cross from Stevens down the left and Turner is nearly in again. Rovers' quality of crossing is excellent. Just needs an end product and they can dream of another Champions League tie this season.

17 min GREAT CHANCE FOR ROVERS - Cross from Enda Stevens finds Gary Twigg and his powerful header comes off the crossbar. It all came about after more sloppy play from Copenhagen

15 min Another rushed clearence from the Danes - highlights the level of intensity that Rovers are playing at. In saying that, they need to be careful at the back. A couple of mis-directed passes could prove fatal.

13 min Our man at the game Rory Houston says: "Shamrock Rovers fans unveil a banner 'We fear no Danes.' "Fantastic atmosphere."

11 min Rovers certainly holding their own and Pat Sullivan's inviting cross needed a touch and perhaps something it was on. The home side are clearly intent on making life uncomfortable for the visitors and are getting behind the back four when possible.

9 min Billy Dennehy goes down in the box. Referee was right beside him and awards no penalty. Ronan Finn is the standout player early on. Danish player clearly got the ball in the Dennehy incident.

6 min Cross from Billy Dennehy finds Chris Turner and his looping header is saved by keeper Wiland. The home side are finding their feet - passing the ball around.

4 min Over cooked cross from Gary McCabe finds nobody as the Hoops make a forward thrust. Midfield looks like it's going to be congested this evening.

3 min Another Copenhagen chance sees Diouf nearly play in Jorgensen. Rovers need to get hold of the ball more.

2 min First attack from the Danes sees the first shot in anger from Bolanos which ends up in the Square Shopping Centre.

1945 The game is on.

1943 The referee is from Turkey - Halis Ozkahya.

1941 Cracking atmosphere in Tallaght. The sun is shining on a mild August evening. Gary Twigg has scored 11 goals this season - but none in European competition. Can he break his duck tonight.

1933 Manager Michael O'Neill wants his team to it sit tight early on and his wary about conceding an early goal. The only problem is his side have to score tonight.

1932 RTÉ pundit Liam Brady feels Rovers have a good chance of qualifying as he feels Copenhagen are not the side that made great strides in last year's Champions League.

1914 Teams:
Shamrock Rovers - R Thompson, P Sullivan, E Stevens, C Sives, D Murray, G McCabe, G Twigg, C Turner. B Dennehy, R Finn, C McCormack

FC Copenhagen - J Willand, P Bengtsson, S Ottesen, Claudemir, C Grindheim, P Pate Diouf, D N'Doye, T Kristensen, R Sigurdsson, M Jorgensen, C Bolanas

1828 We're waiting on the team announcements. A full house is expected in Tallaght for the match.

16:20 The Airtricity League side are 1-0 down from the first leg, so an intriguing encounter is expected in Dublin 24, with the home side well aware that they must attack, while also wary of the fact that they must not concede.

16:30 Rovers' Dan Murray believes success tonight could set them up for the future. Speaking to RTÉ Sport, he said: "Obviously anyone who gets far in the Champions League is going to make a lot of money. If we are lucky enough to do that it would keep the club right for years to come."

Manager Michael O'Neill is guarding against complacency however, as he knows that his side will have to best at their very best if they are to progress.

He said: "We have seen a lot of Copenhagen now and we more or less know what to expect from them.

"They obviously have the upper hand with the one-goal lead, but the tie is certainly not beyond us.

"We have looked at the game again as a team. The lads can see for themselves how well they did last week and what they are capable of.

"We will need to keep up that level of performance if we are to get a result from the game."
