Manchester United v Marseille (Agg 0-0)

Manchester United pair Nani and Michael Carrick will both return to the squad for tonight's Champions League match against Marseille at Old Trafford.

Nani was expected to be out until after the international break with a gashed leg but trained this morning as did Carrick, who has been troubled with calf and groin injuries.

Central defender Nemanja Vidic missed the session as he needed treatment for a knock but is expected to play as United aim to build on a 0-0 draw in the first leg.

Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher are among a number of players who will be absent from the match.

Marseille's chances will be dented by the absence of Brazilian striker Brandao, who incurred Deschamps' wrath after he was placed under formal police investigation on suspicion of a sexual assault.

Brandao is on bail and will not travel to Manchester after being left out of the Rennes match.

Instead Deschamps will need an influential display from playmaker Mathieu Valbuena, who recently returned after four weeks out with a knee injury.

Manchester United team from: Van der Sar, Kuszczak, O'Shea, Rafael, Smalling, Brown, Vidic, Evra, Fabio, Gibson, Nani, Scholes, Carrick, Obertan, Bebe, Giggs, Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Valencia.
