Trapattoni has handed both Seamus Coleman and Ciaran Clark what many believe to be a long overdue debut.
However the much vaunted Carling Nations Cup hasn't exactly captured the public's imagination and despite a reduction in ticket prices, there's seems to be plenty on empty seats in the Aviva Stadium.
New Wales manager Gary Speed has gone for an attacking formation and line-up.
Robbie Earnshaw will play up front along with Reading duo Simon Church and Simon Robson-Kanu in a 4-3-3 formation.
