Sligo Rovers boss Paul Cook was named Airtricity /Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Personality of the year for 2010 on Friday night.

Cook led Sligo to success in the EA Sports and FAI Cup last season in a remarkable year for the Bit o’ Red.

The Liverpudlian defeated Sligo players Richie Ryan and Joseph N’do as well as Michael O’Neill, Gary Twigg and Pat Devlin to claim the award.

Shamrock Rovers stopper Alan Mannus was named Goalkeeper of the Year.
