Danny Murphy has left Shamrock Rovers with immediate effect, the club has announced.
The Hoops released a statement on Tuesday afternoon confirming Murphy was departing Tallaght by mutual consent.
The former Cork City man had one year left on his contract but the deal ‘has been cancelled today with the agreement of both the player and club’.
