As it Happened: Shamrock Rovers 0-2 Juventus

2131 GAME OVER. Fully deserved win for Juventus, but Shamrock Rovers did themselves proud especially in the first 15 minutes of the second-half. If Dan Murray's headed effort went in after 52 minutes, the game, possibly, may have taken a different course. Playing through the midfield posed Juve some problems, but the the Italians regained a foothold in the last 25 minutes and were well worth their 2-0 success.

90+2 Free-kick for Rovers have the Juve keeper scrambling. Stephen Bradley on for the home side - so he can tell his grandchildren that he played against Juve.

90 min Del Piero goes on a one-man sojourn, but he takes too much out of the ball as Chris Turner goes down with a smack of nose. He'll be alright, however.

88 min Rovers would like to get one back here as Marchiso goes off ans Swede Ekdal comes on. Three added minutes.

86 min Mota conceds a corner with Dennehy lurking and Thomas Stewart hits a poor enough effort when the ball break free from the set piece.

78 min Rovers respond well and Bayly's effort hust goes narrowly over.

75 min GOAL! The goal did come and Amauri on the double following a powerful header puts Juve in the driving seat. Brilliant cross from Marco Motta.

73 min Marchisio nearly put in following a good ball from Amauri. Some of the Rovers passing is now a little bit slack. There is another goal in this game - but to who?

70 min Terrific ball in from Pepe is again dealt with by Dan Murray, with Amauri lurking. That's Amauri!

65 min Thomas Stewart shows some clever foot work to put pressure on the Juve defence. Home side now gone 4-4-2.

64 min Juve free-kick in a dangerous position is knocked behind by Dan Murray. Diego takes it.

60 min Juve corner finds Pepe and his drive skims the right hand post. Entertaining fare now.

58 min Amauri denied a second goal after a long ball through but the left hand post saves Rovers.

55 min Chris Turner has a crack from 30 yards out and it just goes over the top. Rovers' fan are in full voice now as dusk begins to settle in Tallaght.

51 min Juve change as Lanzafame is about to come off. Martinez comes on.

49 min Decent ball in from Stevens and Twigg claims he was pulled down in the box. Feel on deaf ears, however. The visitors continue to look a bit rattled as Rovers put pressure down Juve's left hand side.

47 min Juve a bit careless early on. Important for Rovers that they van exploit slackness as keeper Storari fetches well from a Chambers cross.

2043 Second half is underway.

2035 Rico reckons that Rovers should not change their formation, but he and Liam are of the opinion that Diego is the best players, while Chambers and Turner have done well for the home side.

2034 Liam Brady, on the other hand, feels Rovers have done well and have come back into the game in the last 15 minutes. Rico feels the Hoops have down when they have tried to play a bit of ball.

45 min Half-time and its pretty much Juve in control, with the difference in class quite evident at times. I stress the words at times

41 min First yellow card is shown to Pepe for a bad tackle on Turner.

40 min Rovers struggling to get numbers back as Diego nearly puts Pepe clear.

38 min Lovely run from Enda Stevens for the home side, but Twigg forgot to stay on side. Will Michael O'Neill stick with his 4-5-1 formation. Twigg definitely needs more support.

34 min Pepe has a chance with his header following a lovely flighted cross from Diego. The Italian Job seems a bit too much for the Dublin hoops so far. Still they are only a goal behind.

31 min Juventus chance. Diego, who has looked very lively throughout sets up Lanzafami, whose goal-bound effort was well blocked by the home defence.

28 min James Chambers and Robert Bayly combine well as the home side offer some penetration. They need mauch more of this.

23 min Chambers for Shamrock Rovers is coming more into the game, but he needs more support. Thomas Stewart, quiet up to now, makes a decisive tackle on Chiellini.

21 min Juve finished seventh in Serie A last season - a fallen giant for now - but they look comfortable here. Mannus gathers comfortably from a Juve keeper.

19 min Respite for the home side as they win a free kick, but the options are sparse. Sives puts himself in a tight corner again - the Scot needs to settle down.

16 min Juve with plenty of room in the middle third are stroking the ball to each other with ease. Rovers' Craig Sives plays a hospital pass and Juve are nearly in again with Diego. Shoot was screwed in the direction of Woodies on the Kiltipper Road.

14 min The home side are allowing Juve to have a lot of the ball. Free kick from Diego finds Pepe, who was unmarked and he really should have done better.

12 min Mohamed Sissoko, former Liverpool player is making his presence felt. The Hoops will have to try and vary their play and not play the long ball up to Twigg.

10 min Rovers are having difficulty in making much progress so far as Juve look to add to their tally. Shot from Diego is deflected out for a corner. Same player takes the corner and the home side clear.

5 min At the other end, Murray had time to shoot for the home side, but he delayed his effort.

3 min GOAL - Big Dan Murray caught out and Amauri lifts the ball past Mannus. Soft enough goal to concede.

1944 Game on. The home support are in full voice, as you would expect. Pitch is in great condition.
