Real Madrid have agreed a compensation package with Inter Milan for Jose Mourinho, leaving the Portuguese coach free to sign for the nine-times European champions, Spanish and Italian media have reported.
Real, who said they could not comment on the widespread reports, sacked Manuel Pellegrini this week and said they planned to replace him with Mourinho, provided a deal with Inter could be agreed.
Mourinho led Inter to a treble of trophies last season, culminating in their Champions League final victory over Bayern Munich at Real's Bernabeu Stadium.
