21.45 That concludes our text commentary for this evening. Join us again tomorrow night for Bayern Munich against Manchester United. See you then.
Barcelona 4-1 Arsenal: Barcelona reach the last four thanks to a historic display from Lionel Messi. Arsenal had no answers to his craft and finishing, they must focus on the Premier League while Inter Milan are next for Pep Guadiola's men.
Messi leaves the pitch clutching a ball earned by his four-goal haul. He was born to play with it.
FULL TIME: BARCELONA 4-1 ARSENAL
90 +1 min: Eduardo's header from a late corner is over the bar. Arsenal have given all their all but tonight is all about Messi.
90 min: We're in stoppage time.
Barcelona 4-1 Arsenal: The best. Messi dribbles through the Arsenal defence. The Gunners do not know how to stop him, with Vermaelen all over the place.
Almunia saves his first effort, but the Argentinian slams the ball through the legs of the 'keeper with the rebound.
BARCELONA 4-1 ARSENAL - MESSI
86 min Maxwell exchanges the ball with Keita but Almunia saves well as his near post.
84 min Barca fans cheering every pass now. Iniesta coming on for Pedro.
82 min Bendtner slides it through to Walcott but the England internatioanl is offside. Moments earlier, Messi almost found his way through the Arsenal backline but Vermaelen cleared.
79 min Only seems like there will be one outcome now. Arsenal have not been totally outclassed tonight, just by Messi.
76 min Clichy wins the ball from Alves and has several options but chooses to shoot from 30 yards. The ball sails over the bar.
73 min Eduardo on for Rosicky. Wenger can do no more, it is up to his players to find the goals now.
72 min Clichy's pinpoint cross leaves Bendtner with a free-header but it comes back off the post. I think he was offside but Arsenal have had their chances tonight.
71 min Messi takes a quick free kick to play in Pedro but his chip goes wide. Arsenal still in the game.
70 min Only 20 minutes remain for Arsenal to find two goals. Rosicky has a good chance from the edge of the box but his shot is over and wide.
67 min Eboue booked for connecting with Busquets' face with his arm. Surely a red card by the letter of the law?
63 min Eboue comes on for Silvestre.
62 min Cliichy bursts through in midfield but again Bendtner wastes the opportunity. With Arsenal looking for a goal, they may opt to bring on Eduardo soon.
59 min Arsenal starting to push numbers forward. Barca are closing them down quite quickly but there have been times when the Gunners have found plenty of space, no more evident than when Diaby plays through Bendtner.
But the Denmark striker's touch lets him down and the chance is gone.
56 min Everytime Arsenal give the ball away, which is all too frequently, Barcelona look so dangerous.
53 min Barcelona looking the more likely to find the net this half. They go close through Pedro, with Bojan now being withdrawn for Yaya Toure.
52 min Abidal must go off after picking up an injury with Maxwell coming on.
48 min Arsenal are pressing, but without much reward. Barcelona then begin a quick-fire attack that sees Pedro drill the ball across the box but Almunia can gather.
46 min Can't say I fancy being an Arsenal defender for the second-half. The next goal is crucial, one for Barcelona and it could be quite embarrassing. If Arsenal were to strike, then we would have a game on our hands.
Half-time: Barcelona 3-1 Arsenal: What can you say about that? Arsenal was playing well and at 1-0 looked really well-placed to cause an upset. Then Messi took control. Three superb finishes leave Arsenal with a mountain to climb and Barcelona on their way to a semi-final with Inter Milan.
Half-time: Barcelona 3-1 Arsenal
44 min Messi nearly finds himself through on goal again but his touch lets him down. Yes , you read that right.
42 min Arsenal have no answers to Messi's brilliance and they need two goals to go through. There will be no extra-time now, if anything this could be a rout.
Barcelona 3-1 Arsenal: As I started this commentary I was a bit peeved by how much hype surrounded this Barcelona team and Messi.
They are ,of course, sensational but the discussions about the team being the greatest the world has ever seen and Messi being better than Maradona left a lot to think about.
But how can you argue with any of it when watching this? Arsenal play a ridiculously high-line with Keita heading it forward, leaving Messi with plenty of time to apply the finish.
There was never any doubt. Almunia comes off his line and Messi just lifts the ball over the goalkeeper for a hat-trick. Barcelona in control.
BARCELONA 3-1 ARSENAL - MESSI
38 min Arsenal still had to score but that was a huge blow. They have to get to half-time without conceding another.
Barcelona 2-1 Arsenal: I was just about to type that Messi could win this game on his own and maye he will.
Abidal is played through but his cross is poor. Arsenal fail to clear and Pedro flicks it to the oncoming Messi who lifts it over Almunia and into the net.
BARCELONA 2-1 ARSENAL - MESSI
32 min Rosicky gives the ball away in the Barca half and with Clichy out of position he has free reign to bomb down the wing.
He toys with Silvestre before shooting into the side-netting. They can be so dangerous on the break.
31 min Alves' free-kick is saved easily by Almunia.
29 min It has been a bit scrappy in the last few moments. Messi then goes on a sensational run before conning the referee into giving a foul on Denilson with some apparent injury-feigning. Denilson is booked for a great tackle.
26 min Neither side looking too threatening at the moment. Arsenal have composed themselves after that goal.
22min Arsenal must do it all again now. It will be interesting to see how they react to conceding so soon. Do they have the mental strength to fight back once more? Nasri is fine by the way, he has shaken off the shin injury.
Barcelona 1-1 Arsenal: How long did that last? Great chance for Diaby to put Walcott through again but his pass is poor. Moments later the ball ricochets to Messi as Arsenal struggle to clear on the edge of their box and the leading scorer in La Liga fires it into the top corner.
BARCELONA 1-1 ARSENAL - MESSI
Barcelona 0-1 Arsenal: Diaby powers past a host of Barca players in his own half. He gives it away but then his tackle, possibly a foul, gives him the opportunity to slide it through to Walcott.
Walcott is now bearing down on goal, he doesn't look confident and his pass to Bendtner is terrible.
Bendtner's shot it saved, but he gets up so quickly and squeezes the ball into the net.
GOAL BARCELONA 0-1 ARSENAL - BENDTNER
15 min This could be a disaster for Arsenal. Milito, when winning the ball, goes through Nasri, and the Arsenal midfielder picks up a knock. They cannot afford any more injuries.
13 min No sign of an attacking threat for the Gunners. But they will be fairly pleased with the start, they have to keep it scoreless for as long as possible.
11 min The warning signs are there for Arsenal. Messi finds a yard on the edge of the box and curls a shot onto the roof of the net. They will take one of these half-chances soon, Arsenal must take the initative.
9 min Pedro drags a shot wide after receiving the ball from Bojan. About as close as Xavi's earlier flick, Almunia had it covered.
8 min One or two fouls for Arsenal with Diaby lucky to escape a yellow-card.
7 min It is important for Arsenal to settle well and not concede. They are closing down Barcelona as quickly as possible. I expected them to come flying out of the traps.
5 min Foul on Walcott from Milito and Arsenal have a free-kick so they can clear.
4 min Messi forces Almunia into a diving save with a shot from inside the area. Comfortable for the goalkeeper. The first corner is cleared by Bendtner.
3 min Xavi has the first chance of the game as his flick from an Alves cross goes wide.
2 min Both teams look to get a few early passes in. Barcelona win a free just inside the Arsenal half but they give the ball away.
7.41pm Both teams look quite nervous as they line-up for the traditional Champions League theme tune. We're about to begin....
7.40pm The teams are in the tunnel....
7.38pm I know the updates were a bit infrequent for the first match, but we're full steam ahead from now. I can see Arsenal opening the scoring here but how can they keep Barcelona scoreless?
7.34pm Such a pity Arsenal do not have the likes of Arshavin, Fabregas and Van Persie available tonight. The stage is set for Theo Walcott though, he has the ability to trouble Barcelona as we saw last week.
7.30pm Right, that's my substitute appearance for tonight over. I'll hand you back to Rory Houston for the Gooners tie. I just mis-typed that as Goners, hmmm, we shall see.
I'll be back tomorrow from 7pm to bring you coverage of the Manchester United-Bayern Munich tie. See you then. Tadhg Peavoy.
7.29pm Ruud Gullit is sporting a newly shaved barnet for SKY's coverage in Barcelona. Bring back the dreadlocks Ruud. Or at least the moustache!
7.24pm SKY are calling tonight's match football art. That's all well and good for Messi and co. Let's see what Sol Campbell has to say about it though!
7.21pm If that was the appetizer for tonight's main course, I'd ask for my money back. It was more pineapple and cheese on a stick than mushroom and roquefort vol-au-vent.
92 mins That's it, full time. For the first time in seven years Internazionale reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. 1-0 on the night. 2-0 on aggregate. Only one word can be used to describe that: easy.
91 mins Gonzáles takes a CSKA free on the 18-yard line. He tries to put it under the wall and into the bottom corner. Narrowly wide. Good effort.
90 mins Guilherme receives a cross in the Inter box. It is the perfect height to head home, but he tries to take it down and the chance vanishes. Two minutes of stoppage time to be played.
88 mins Muntari is on now. He gives the ball away with his first touch. Eto'o beats two men in CSKA penalty area. Just as he is about to unleash a shot, Ignashevich gets a foot in. Corner. It falls to Zanetti who blasts it high and wide.
86 mins A chance for González is blocked out by the Inter defence. The Italians are looking forward to a slice of pizza and a glass of red now. CSKA don't look like they would score if they stayed here all night.
84 mins Lucio hacks down Guiherme on the edge of the box. Free for the Russian side. Ignashevich smashes the free-kick miles over the bar. Very, very poor.
83 mins Lucio makes a half break and wins a free-kick as a CSKA defender pulls his jersey. The free is intercepted and the move breaks down. Sulley Muntari is coming on.
81 mins Sneijder looks relly dangerous every time he gets the ball. He and Eto'o link up so naturally and will be a danger to whoever they face in the semis.
78 mins Action is a little bit of an overstatement to be honest. CSKA are toothless at present and Internazionale have been passing it around like a training match in this second half. The most action going on is Rory going to buy himself a steak and kidney pie.
77 mins This is Rory's colleague Tadhg Peavoy stepping in for the last 13 minutes or so of action.
72 min Milito misses another clear-cut opportunity, shooting straight at the goalkeeper Akinfeev after Sneijder's chip through. The striker is substituted with Balotelli coming on. He'll be disappointed with not finding the net.
69 min Stankovic forces the CSKA 'keeper into a smart save. Inter win a corner as a result, they're cantering now.
64 min This tie is over and it is just a matter of 25 minutes plus stoppage time until Jose Mourinho leads Inter Milan into the last four. As promised, the teams at the Nou Camp will be:
Barcelona: Valdes, Dani Alves, Abidal, Marquez, Milito, Busquets, Keita, Xavi, Pedro, Messi, Bojan.
Subs: Pinto, Iniesta, Henry, Maxwell, Toure Yaya, Fontas, Jeffren.
Arsena: Almunial, Sagna, Clichy, Silvestre, Vermaelen, Diaby, Denilson, Nasri, Rosicky, Walcott, Bendtner.
Subs: Fabianski, Eduardo, Eboue, Traore, Campbell, Merida, Eastmond.
60 min Mikael Silvestre and Theo Walcott start for Arsenal tonight, we'll have the teams in full shortly. Meanwhile, Inter are passing the ball around for fun in the Luzhniki Stadiun,
57 min Good save from Cesar after a powerful Gonzalez half-volley from just inside the area.
51 min Like the first half, it has been a perfect start for Mourinho's side.
Any momentum built up by CSKA in the opening minutes of the second 45 has been destroyed by that red card.
RED CARD Chidi Odiah receives a second-yellow card for a rash challenge on Samuel Eto'o.
It is a very late tackle and he can have no complaints. Anyone willing to bet on CSKA now?!
6.28pm Just over an hour until kick-off in the Nou Camp. It is hard to see Arsenal causing an upset tonight, they have so many injuries. But you can never rule out Arsenal Wenger's side. The second half is about to start in Russia.
Half-time: Inter Milan were very comfortable for that half, it was an impressive showing from Jose Mourinho's side with the goal leaving CSKA really struggling now. CSKA 0-1 Inter Milan (0-2 on agg).
40 min The game has really slowed down, with only Eto'o threatening in recent minutes. As half-time approaches, Inter are well on their way to last four.
34 min Diego Milito could have ended the tie as a contest when one-on-one with Akinfeev, but his tame shot was easily saved by the goalkeeper.
30 min CSKA are improving and have rattled Inter in recent moments, but the Italians come on the break now.
That could be a sign of things to come for the rest of the match.
The home side have to go for it and with three goals needed there is little time to waste.
22 min Chidi Odiah was the player to come on for Vasili Berezutsky. Tomas Necid has CSKA's best chance of the half when his shot from the edge of the box went inches past Julio Cesar's post.
20 min CSKA just can't get going, Inter have most of the ball and the home fans are very quiet. The home side have already made a tactical substitution in a bid to change things.
10 min That leaves CSKA needing at least three goals in the next 80 minutes. The Russians have made a positive response but Inter are growing in confidence now and will look to kill off the tie.
CSKA Moscow 0-1 Inter Milan: Wesley Sneijder's free-kick from 25 yards goes through the legs of a defender in the wall and with the 'keeper Akinfeev unsighted, he is unable to stop the powerful drive. Inter lead after only six minutes.
CSKA MOSCOW 0-1 INTER MILAN
4 min Pretty even start with Inter starting to see more of the ball.
An away goal and they will have one foot in the semi-finals so no surprise to see an attacking start.
5.28pm Just a reminder that Inter Milan are a goal up going into the second leg.
5.25pm The teams are making their way onto the pitch in Moscow. The artificial surface in the Luzhniki Stadium could have a big bearing on the outcome to this tie.
5.15pm CSKA Moscow: Akinfeev, Alexei Berezutsky, Vasili Berezutsky, Ignashevich, Shchennikov, Honda, Semberas, Mamaev, Dzagoev, Gonzalez, Necid.
Subs: Chepchugov, Nababkin, Odiah, Guilherme,
Piliev, Rahimic, Oliseh.
Inter Milan: Julio Cesar, Maicon, Samuel, Lucio, Zanetti,
Cambiasso, Sneijder, Stankovic, Eto'o, Milito, Pandev.
Subs: Orlandoni, Cordoba, Quaresma, Muntari, Materazzi, Chivu,
Balotelli.
Referee: Stephane Lannoy (France)
5.00pm Welcome to tonight's Champions League quarter-final coverage.
For the next five hours we'll be following events from the Luzhniki Stadium and the Nou Camp.
Inter Milan and Barcelona hold slight advantages going into the tonight's second leg ties.
