Match postponed due to weather conditions in the UK
Mohamed Diame is out of Wigan's local derby with Barclays Premier League rivals Bolton at the DW Stadium on Monday.
The midfielder sustained lateral ligament damage to his left knee during Wednesday's 2-1 defeat at Liverpool.
Jason Scotland, who replaced Diame at Anfield, is almost certain to return to the starting line-up as manager Roberto Martinez reverts to playing two in attack against Wanderers.
For Bolton, midfielder Fabrice Muamba is suspended. The England Under-21 international picked up his fifth booking of the season in Wednesday's 3-1 victory over West Ham.
Midfielder Gavin McCann's recovery from an ankle injury has not come quickly enough for him to be involved against Wigan but he may make the squad for Burnley on Boxing Day.
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez believes Bolton's unpredictability makes them a ‘very dangerous’ proposition ahead of tonight's local derby.
Gary Megson's side head to the DW Stadium having rediscovered their confidence following a resurgent week in which they have netted four points from two matches.
Wanderers followed up a 3-3 draw with Manchester City at the Reebok Stadium with a crucial 3-1 home victory over fellow strugglers West Ham, ending a run of six Barclays Premier League games without a win.
Those two results at least restored Bolton's credibility, even if Megson has admitted his concern other teams do not fear his side and they lack the intimidation factor.
Martinez rightfully respects Bolton, in particular now they have run into form, with their results last week lifting them out of the bottom three.
‘If you look at their last two games, they've shown they can put in good performances and take points off anyone,’ assessed Martinez.
‘They're a side that can adapt to the opposition, who are very solid, well organised and who can score from nothing. They've the magic of Lee (Chung-yong) and (Ivan) Klasnic coming alive at the right time, so they are a real threat as a team.
‘It probably suits them at times to be labelled as a team who people don't know what to expect and that makes them a very dangerous side.’
Martinez could do with the kind of mini-revival enjoyed by Megson of late as his side have won only one of their last seven matches.
During that period the Latics have conceded 21 goals and, while all is far from rosy defensively, Martinez knows his players are not doing too much wrong.
Wednesday's 2-1 defeat at Liverpool was a case in point, the Spaniard adding: ‘There were some mixed feelings after the game. We know we conceded two very soft goals because we paid too much respect to the opposition.
‘But the way we reacted was pleasing because at times we kept the ball well, had great composure and were able to create four open chances. You don't get a result at Anfield unless you take your chances but we were well and truly in the game until the last second.
‘That is a positive to take out of the performance and something we're going to take into this next game with Bolton.’
