Sporting Fingal warmed up for Sunday’s FAI Ford Cup semi-final against Bray Wanderers by beating Limerick and climbing to second place in the First Division.
The home side went ahead four minutes before half-time through Gary O’Neill’s left-foot drive from 25 yards that rose high past goalkeeper David Ryan.
It was 2-0 on 50 minutes when Eamon Zayed tapped in close-range after Ryan couldn’t hold onto Conan Byrne’s low shot.
Stephen O’Flynn pulled a goal back from the penalty spot with 17
minutes left after Shane McFaul shoved John Tierney in the box.
