Richard Dunne has handed Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni a huge boost with the defender taking a full role in training on Thursday in Malahide.
Dunne had missed yesterday's run-out because of an ankle injury, with Paul McShane on standby to come into the team to face Italy on Saturday at Croke Park if the Aston Villa man was unable to take part.
But he should now take his place in the Irish starting line-up.
The Republic need a victory at Croke Park to keep their hopes of automatic qualification alive.
