Fulham midfielder Damien Duff has defended Republic of Ireland team-mate Aidan McGeady after his sending off in Celtic's 1-0 win over Hibernian in the SPL yesterday.
McGeady was shown a second yellow card after referee Dougie McDonald adjudged him to have dived during the Easter Road clash.
Celtic boss Tony Mowbray was furious with the decision and, speaking to RTÉ Soccer Correspondent Tony O'Donoghue this morning, Duff admitted that McGeady was unlucky to see red.
He revealed: 'Yeah, it was a pity for Aidy. I don't know it could put me in a bit of trouble, I've been accused of diving a few times over the years.
'It's like opening a can of worms I think. You could probably point the finger in most matches at people diving but where do you stop? So it'll be interesting to see where it goes.'
