Roddy Collins, the former Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers manager, has been confirmed as the new boss of Maltese club side Floriana.
Collins, a pundit on RTÉ's MNS, takes over the most successful club side in Maltese history and the most famous club on the Island.
The Dubliner had stated he was on the verge of the taking up the post in his column in a Sunday newspaper last weekend.
In 2008 the Maltese club, who are based in Valletta, signed an International partnership with Shamrock Rovers and are actually nicknamed 'The Irish'.
