The debate raged during the ad break, it continued beyond, and no I'm not talking about the question of whether Dundalk should have had a penalty against Sligo, or about the red and yellow cards being flashed at Inchicore, or the state of the long grass at Tallaght.....no, the panellists couldn't agree whether Paul Byrne was actually a good singer or not.
I had given him a fair old build-up before the Karaoke King segment, and Tony McDonnell said that with a guitar, he's dynamite, but Sean and Roddy both had reservations about Paul's vocal ability.
The irony is that having received a number of emails earlier in the series slagging off Karaoke King, the tables seem to have turned and we're now getting emails telling us that you're really liking it.
Further irony is that when a club records KK, they almost invariably go on to do well in their subsequent games. (Not all of them, but most of them!)
Maybe some of the managers out there who are reluctant to let their players have a go, might be interested to know that Karaoke King can lead to good results. Beats tactics any day, as Johnny Giles might say.
I was very surprised when the FAI agreed to a friendly against Nigeria on the same night when three premier division games had been scheduled, particularly when one of those encounters was a top-of-the-table clash between Cork City and Bohemians.
You could argue that the FAI didn't know when the Nigeria game was organised that Cork and Bohs would be the top two teams on the night in question, although you wouldn't have to be a mastermind to hazard a guess that those two would be challenging.
Despite the counter attraction at Craven Cottage, I was thrilled to see that just about 5,500 fans turned out at Turners' Cross for the match. By my reckoning the biggest crowd of the season so far.
I'm not sure if that says more about the potential there is for big crowds in Cork if the team is doing well, or the lack of interest in a friendly international in London that wasn't available on terrestrial television.
Whatever the answer, from my perspective it was an own goal to organise an Ireland match on the same night that big domestic club matches have already been scheduled.
One thing struck me at Tallaght on Saturday night. I was amazed (and thrilled) to see so many of the crowd wearing the clubs' jerseys.
The mixture of the green and white hoops and new limited edition pink jerseys of all sizes made for a really colourful scene, and in fairness to the visiting Drogheda fans, they wore their claret colours in good numbers too. I saw a fantastic photograph on the web of a large section of the stand and the array of club colours on display is great to see.
It's such a change from when I started going to games when all you had then was a scarf, or a rosette. (Actually maybe even I'm not old enough to remember the rosette days). At that time everyone wore grey, brown or black, but now to see large shaven headed men wearing the pink jerseys is quite a sight to behold.
The draw for the EA Sports Cup semi-finals was interesting. Tony did his old pals at UCD a favour by giving them a home draw against Waterford United on 3/4 August, - which, of course, is midweek, and not the weekend as I said on the programme.
The Bohemians v Sligo Rovers semi should be a cracker too, and with the added spice of a place in next season's Setanta Cup for the winners, the two semi-finals should be good. Pity we have to wait so long for them to be played.
I thought Tony O'Donoghue's point about Brian Murphy being ignored by the international team management was well made. Colin Doyle couldn't get into the Birmingham first team this season, and how a reserve keeper from the Championship who's been enjoying his holidays can be selected ahead of the most consistent keeper in the league here, is very disappointing.
Incidentally, I'm sure the future Mrs Westwood would not have been too thrilled to hear Roddy say that Kieron should delay his wedding to travel to Sofia with the Irish squad.
With games on Tuesday and Friday this week, we'll have lots of action for you in next week's show, and plenty more controversial moments to discuss, and not just whether the next Karaoke King singer is good or bad!
