Bohemians defender Jason McGuinness has received a five-match suspension after he was found guilty of racially abusing Sligo Rovers' Romauld Boco.

The incident happened in the League of Ireland Premier Division clash between the sides at the Showgrounds on 18 April.

Today the league’s Independent Disciplinary Committee imposed the ban in accordance with FAI rules 73 and 89. The sanction will take effect from 20 May.

That means McGuinness will be eligible to play in Friday night’s clash with Derry City at the Brandywell.
