Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has been handed a double fitness boost ahead of his side's crucial World Cup qualifier double-header with Bulgaria and Italy.
Both Shay Given and Aidan McGeady are expected to be passed fit for Saturday's clash with Bulgaria after initial concerns over their fitness.
Given is expected to train with his Irish team-mates in Malahide today after arriving in Dublin following tests on his shoulder by club Manchester City.
McGeady joined up with the squad yesterday afternoon but did not train, as the Celtic midfielder rested his bruised foot. However, he is expected to take part in training today.
