Former Cork City player David Meyler will make his Republic of Ireland Under-21 debut tonight at Turner's Cross after he was called into the starting XI to take on Georgie in place the injured James McCarthy.

McCarthy has been ruled out of the match due to a slight hamstring problem.

The Hamilton Academicals midfielder had the problem when he reported to the Ireland camp and, while it was initially hoped that he would be able to start the match, he has been left out of the team as a precautionary measure.

That has paved the way for Meyler to take his place in the heart of the Irish midfield.

The match kicks off at 7.30pm and tickets are available at the gate. Tickets are priced €15 for adults and €5 for Under-16s.
