Defender Sam Ricketts is available again for Hull's Barclays Premier League clash with Aston Villa at the KC Stadium.

Ricketts missed the 5-1 thrashing at Manchester City on Boxing Day through suspension after his sending off against Sunderland in the previous game.

His likely return at left-back should allow Paul McShane to revert to right-back with Bernard Mendy pushing back into midfield.

Defenders Anthony Gardner (thigh) and Andy Dawson (Achilles) are now unlikely to return before the Everton clash on January 10 after setbacks in their recovery.

Striker Caleb Folan is still on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Hull from: Myhill, McShane, Turner, Zayatte, Ricketts, Mendy, Boateng, Marney, Ashbee, Geovanni, King, Cousin, Doyle, Fagan, Halmosi, Barmby, Windass, Hughes, Doyle, Garcia, Giannakopoulos, Duke.

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill is set to name an unchanged side after Carlos Cuellar failed to recover from a leg injury in time for the clash.

Cuellar missed the Boxing Day match against Arsenal having been injured in the previous game against West Ham.

Nigel Reo-Coker will continue to deputise for him at right-back.

Zat Knight retains his place at the centre of defence with Martin Laursen missing for at least another three weeks with a knee injury.

Striker John Carew, who has not figured since the clash with Manchester United on November 22, continues to be sidelined by a back injury.

England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor will again spearhead the attack.

Villa from: Friedel, Reo-Coker, Knight, Davies, Luke Young, Milner, Sidwell, Petrov, Barry, Ashley Young, Agbonlahor, Delfouneso, Shorey, Harewood, Gardner, Salifou, Osbourne, Guzan.
