Jamie Redknapp is ready to follow in his father Harry's footsteps after taking his first coaching role with Chelsea.
Redknapp will coach Chelsea's reserve team for two days a week as the former Liverpool and Tottenham star steps up his attempt to emulate his dad.
Redknapp senior is currently in charge at Tottenham after a lengthy managerial career taking in spells at Bournemouth, West Ham, Portsmouth and Southampton.
After the departure of previous Chelsea reserve coach Brendan Rodgers to take over as Watford boss, a vacancy opened up for Redknapp, who plans to start studying for his coaching badges.
The former England midfielder, who was forced to retire prematurely due to a series of knee injuries, had turned down a chance to join Chelsea's coaching staff when Avram Grant was in charge last season.
