Drogheda United have begun a push to raise €100,000 within the next seven days in order to help save the club from extinction.
Last night's Emergency Public Meeting was a huge success as more than 400 fans turned out to pledge their support and their cash to the club. With an initial target of €100,000 to be raised, the club have already raised more than €30,000 and are asking for the support of the public over the next week.
The club offices at United Park will be open over the weekend, and supporters are encouraged to donate what they can to the club. Platinum, Gold and Silver donations of €500, €300 and €100 can be made, while supporters can also join the newly revamped 500 Club for just €25 per month.
The club are asking for the businesses of Drogheda to get behind the club and donate what they can to the club. Supporters are asked to run fundraising events in their workplace and to approach their employers for donations to the club.
Any other fundraising ideas and ventures are encouraged by the club.
