Double-chasing Bohemians finished their league campaign with a flourish to maintain their momentum ahead of next week's FAI Cup final, and in so doing ended Cork's hopes of Europe.

Superbly taken goals by Glenn Cronin, Killian Brennan and Mindaugas Kalonas gave Pat Fenlon's relentless champions a third win of the season over Cork whose defeat opened the door to Europe for Sligo Rovers, who duly beat Bray at the Showgrounds.

Brian Murphy had to save the blushes of his captain Owen Heary with a smart save at the feet of Darragh Ryan early on, before Bohemians took the lead on 15 minutes.

A cross from Gary Deegan was only partially cleared and Cronin pounced to rifle a rising left-foot shot to the roof of Mark McNulty's net from 25 yards.

Murphy twice excelled to save a Danny Murphy free-kick and then at the feet of Liam Kearney to prevent a Cork equaliser.

In between, Brennan, from a free-kick, came close at the other end, with Glen Crowe also then heading wide when he should have scored.

But Brennan did double Bohemians’ lead on 34 minutes, when Crowe's flick found the run of the winger, who burst through before shooting past McNulty.

The game was then effectively over in the final minute of the half, when Bohemians exposed Cork's poor defending again to add a third.

Heary's ball forward put Kalonas away and the little Lithuanian, watched by Spanish side Sevilla, ran through to shoot past the out-rushing McNulty with the outside of his right foot some 35 yards out.

Cork's consolation came from a Danny Murphy penalty on 89 minutes after Mark Rossiter was harshly adjudged to have handled Ryan’s low shot while on the ground.
