Sporting Fingal's promotion hopes took a dent when they lost their unbeaten home record at Morton Stadium against Wexford Youths.
Captain Anto Russell capped a fine display for Wexford with the winning goal four minutes from time to leave Fingal still trailing leaders Dundalk by six points with nine games each to play.
The home side took just three minutes to register the opener when their top scorer Robbie Doyle ran onto a superb pass by Peter Hynes and buried a low shot from the edge of the box beyond goalkeeper Pa Doyle.
Wexford came more into the game as the home side sat back and deservedly drew level on 33 minutes after John Flynn-O'Connor cut the ball across from the left for Paul Murphy to stroke home.
Fingal were stunned to concede a second goal on the stroke of half-time, with Gavin Doyle beating 'keeper Brendan Clarke from 20 yards with a terrific first-time shot.
It was one-way traffic early in the second half with Sporting searching for a second goal and it duly arrived after 63 minutes through Doyle's 16th of the season – another long-range stunner following some neat play by Paul Caffrey.
Marty Kelly was inches away from regaining the lead for the Youths just minutes later after his firm header from Doyle's cross rattled the crossbar.
Wexford sensed another goal and Fingal defender Barry Ferguson gifted them the opportunity with a stray pass on the edge of his area which allowed Russell burst sprint forward and tuck his shot around Clarke for the winner.
