Bohemians have announced that club captain Kevin Hunt is to retire from the game with immediate effect for personal reasons.
The midfielder has been a regular fixture at Dalymount Park since moving to the club in 1998 and captained them to League success in 2001 and 2003.
At a press conference on Thursday, Hunt cited family commitments and injuries – he suffered serious abdominal and foot injuries in recent times – as the main reasons for his decision.
The central midfielder made a total of 364 appearances for Bohemians and scored a total of 22 goals for the club over a period of 10 years.
He has been an integral part of one of the club's most successful periods in its long history.
