Glentoran are close to securing a friendly against Celtic at the Oval on 23 July.
The east Belfast club have been in talks with the Scottish Premier League champions and they expect the fixture to be confirmed shortly.
If the match goes ahead, it would mark the Glasgow giants' first game in Belfast since they played Cliftonville at Solitude in 1984.
Celtic's last visit to the Oval was in 1963.
