Salomon Kalou scored twice to fire Ivory Coast into the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup with a convincing win against Guinea.
Abdelkader Keita sent the Elephants on their way in the 25th minute but the west African side had to wait until the 70th minute before they added a second, through Didier Drogba.
After that the floodgates opened with Kalou scoring two tap-ins and substitute Bakari Kone smashing in a fantastic strike in the last 17 minutes.
Guinea have now gone out at the quarter-final stage in the last three tournaments, but they matched their opponents for much of the game.
The opening exchanges were littered with errors with both sides understandably nervous.
But the game soon settled and Drogba and Kalou started to look a potent threat in attack.
Neat interplay between the two Chelsea players led to the latter's shot being blocked by a shaky-looking Guinea back line.
Souleymane Youla fired Fode Mansare's cross just wide and Mamadou Dioulde Bah tried his luck with a curling shot straight at Boubacar Barry before Ivory Coast broke the deadlock.
Keita picked the ball up on the right and powered a low shot from a tight angle past Kemoko Camara.
In a flurry of action in the closing minutes of the first half, Camara produced a fine double save to deny first Aruna Dindane and then Kalou, before Keita's shot from the right whistled past the far post.
At the other end, Ismael Bangoura showed clever footwork to shoot on the edge of the box but it was straight at Barry.
Kalou headed into the ground and over from a corner in the second half when it looked easier to score, while Guinea's Daouda Jabi drilled a free-kick into the side netting as his side fought for a way back into the game.
Aruna had a great chance when he sprinted clear and rounded Camara but he could only shoot into the side netting with the goal at his mercy.
Drogba made no mistake when he held off Kamil Zayatte's challenge and sidefooted under Camara minutes later and Kalou added a third soon after when he collected Drogba's through-ball, dummied past Camara and walked the ball into the goal.
Guinea capitulated in the final 10 minutes and Kalou made it four when he tapped home Yaya Toure's pull-back.
Kone compounded Guinea's misery in the 86th minute when he unleashed a first-time strike into the top corner.
