The Football Association of Ireland and the Irish Football Association have agreed to meet next month to explore cooperation on a wider range of issues.
Among the areas that will be covered in the January meeting will be a joint UEFA Under-21 Championship bid, the Setanta Sports Cup and possible expansion of the competition, and the introduction of cross-border competitions at other levels.
‘Both associations have worked very closely in several areas over the past few years and this has definitely been to the benefit of both of us,’ said FAI chief executive John Delaney.
