Damien Richardson has initiated High Court proceedings to prevent any move by Cork City to sack him as first team manager.
Richardson is seeking an injunction to stop the club from removing from his current position.
In the build up to this month's FAI Cup final in which City beat Longford Town 1-0, rumour had circulated that Richardson has been informed that he was to be dismissed.
